Mr. Sperling has represented clients ranging from the world's largest banks to the corner restaurant in a broad range of business transactions. He has assisted clients in the transportation, media, energy, chemical, hotel and restaurant industries, among others, in M&A and joint venture transactions and has represented large international banks, a major Asian quasi-governmental financial institution and a Japanese import-export company in single-lender and syndicated loan transactions, bond transactions and project finance. Mr. Sperling has acted on behalf of software, chemical and technology companies in intellectual property and commercial transactions and has advised clients on general corporate matters. He has counseled a major Japanese shipowning company on long-term charters of LNG tankers, shipbuilding contracts and competitive public bidding procedures and advised independent film producers. He has extensive experience with international business transactions, focusing on primarily on Japan but extending throughout Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Prior to attending law school, Mr. Sperling worked at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development in Paris on the implementation of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
